The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have tested. They have top-of-the-line motors that can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. As with other premium iRobot models (including the top choice) they employ intelligent mapping technology to create detailed floor plans that avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. automatic vacuum cleaner come with Carpet Boost, a feature that increases its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.
The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests of floors with no carpet, and they are particularly adept in removing dog hair. They do have some flaws however, which prevent them from being our top choice. One of the Q5's shortcomings is its navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to become stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people well in our tests. It also doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of the room.
It's still a good deal for those whose home or office has a lot of bare floors and you're looking to save some money. Plus, it's very quiet and you can use it when you're at work or school. The only thing it lacks that you can't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective in mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does have an auto-emptying dock, however. If you're in need of it, the mopping pad can be swapped for a wet one in minutes.
2. iRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into a sleek, compact package. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it easy to clean and effective at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also features a self-emptying bin with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, although it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mop uses sensor technology that can avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time to offer better cleaning. The app allows you to set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average compared to other models.
You can instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and to extend them when in a carpeted area which prevents cross-contamination. Its flex arm can also be used to reach under furniture that is low and along baseboards. It doesn't offer the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ as well as the iRobot Combo j9+.
In tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete an entire home, and it did so with the battery at 66 percent left. It also did a great job cleaning a range of rooms and floors with various flooring types, such as certain area carpets. Its obstacle detection was excellent and it was able to avoid fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles of cables.
It's a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is a feature that we haven't seen before on other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.

It's among our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).
It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. It's also somewhat expensive, though it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are similarly capable and better-looking. If you're willing to live some more volume and a little more cost this is a efficient two-in-one device that should delight most.
iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot vacuum and mop. It has a range of advanced features that help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine, similar to Ecovacs the top of the line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically empty the vacuum's bin, refills the water tank, and washes and dry mop pads.
The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and detect obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its premium competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time however this was not foolproof in our tests and was sometimes confused with power cords or obstructions.
Its vacuum cleaner has an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to complete the task. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and also alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home depending on how dirty they tend to be.
If you have a larger home, you should consider selecting a model with a the option of cleaning zones or spots. The well-designed iRobot app guides you through a mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you set on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules, or to set up the spot-cleaning. It can also be used to it to prioritize your dirtiest areas to improve performance. The app comes with a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.
Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, meaning it can reach corners and under furniture more easily. It also has a strong suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for hair of pets. It also has the ability to set up a spot clean that intensely cleans a localized area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras resemble cute eyes. It is great at vacuuming, but it is more likely to be caught on low thresholds. It is also noisier than other top robot vacuums that we've test. It also has an app that is less intuitive and a small base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.
